A hujra is one of the oldest institutions in our culture — the communal room where elders sit, where wisdom is passed down without formality, and where anyone from the community is welcome to sit, listen, and speak freely. It is not a lecture. It is not a boardroom. It is where legacy is transferred, generation to generation, over conversation.

Meet the Architect: Architecture Hujra, by Imarat Gallery, revives this institution for the architecture community of Pakistan. Each episode brings a senior, established architect to sit as the elder of the hujra — face-to-face with architecture students and fresh graduates, over a cup of chai, in an unscripted, unfiltered conversation.

There are no boring project presentations. No corporate formality. Instead, each episode uncovers a senior architect's real career journey — their struggles, their turning points, and the honest lessons no classroom ever taught them — followed by an open floor where the next generation can ask anything, without hesitation. 

This is more than a show. It is a documentation of legacy — a permanent, growing archive of the masters who shaped architecture in this region, made accessible to the students who will shape its future.

Founder of Imarat gallery

Ar Muhammad Farhan Farhat

Founder

Ar. Muhammad Farhan Farhat is a project architect at Nouman and Farhan Architects and the founder of Imarat Gallery. A researcher, published author, and social activist for architecture in Pakistan, he has spoken at international conferences, holds multiple architectural awards, and remains active in education through workshops and juries. 

Ar Aleena Khan

Managing Director

Aleena Khan is an architect and manager of Imarat Gallery. A graduate of the University of Kotli, AJK, and a social activist, she has helped build Imarat Gallery into a growing platform for architecture in Pakistan since 2023.

Muhammad Safeer

Muhammad Safeer is a 4th year Architecture student at CECOS University, Peshawar, with a strong interest in architecture, design, and continuous learning. He has a keen interest in content creation and actively participates in architecture events, workshops, and design competitions. Syed Azaz Ali Shah

Event Manager

Syed Azaz Ali Shah is a fourth-year Bachelor of Architecture student at CECOS, Peshawar. He work as an Apprentice Architect at Laajverd, Certified in heritage conservation, leading heritage documentation and field research across Chitral, and serves as an Affiliate Member of  IAP-PC. Driven by a passion for architectural heritage and passive design, He merges academic depth with real-world fieldwork to bridge conservation and contemporary practice..

Public Relations & Outreach Manager

Ar. Syeda Tajallah Sahar is a prominent Pakistani architect, academic, and entrepreneur who bridges the gap between architectural theory and practical spatial design. She serves dual roles as a Lecturer in the Art & Design Department at Iqra National University (INU) Peshawar and as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TST Architecture and Interior.

Mujahid 

Photographer & Videographer.
Mujahid is an architecture student at CECOS University with a strong interest in photography, videography, and visual storytelling. His interests include lighting techniques, composition, and cinematic visuals, with a focus on understanding how light and space can transform an image.
Alongside his architectural studies, he continues to explore creative photography and video production, developing his skills in visual communication and

storytelling.

Social Media Manager

Manwa Sahar, Architecture student at CECOS with 2+ years of experience in videography, photography, video editing, and digital storytelling. A storyteller through visuals. She has worked on university events, brand promotions, and digital campaigns. Her focus is on creating engaging content with strong creative direction


Muhammad Talha

M. Talha is an Architecture student with a deep passion for design that pushes boundaries. His love for architecture stems from an appreciation of contemporary design its clean forms, innovative use of materials, and ability to reimagine how spaces are experienced. Talha approaches each project with curiosity and a desire to blend functionality with bold aesthetic expression

Zainab Atif

Zainab Atif is a final-year Architecture student at CECOS University, Peshawar, who is passionate about creative design, architectural exploration, and learning through experience. She has actively contributed to architecture-related events, workshops, exhibitions, and volunteer activities throughout her university journey. Her involvement in diverse academic and extracurricular initiatives has helped her strengthen her creative thinking, teamwork, and organizational abilities. She is enthusiastic about discovering new perspectives in architecture and aims to bring creativity, dedication, and purpose into her future work.

Sarah Shahab is a third-year Architecture student at the School of Art, Design and Architecture, NUST. An art enthusiast at heart, she is exploring the intersection of creativity, functionality, and sustainability through design. Drawing inspiration from the rich cultural heritage and deep-rooted traditions of hospitality of the region she belongs to, Sarah takes a particular interest in placemaking and creating spaces that foster connection and belonging.
